Hi guys! You are probably learning that my birthday is less of a birth-DAY and more of a birth-MONTH. It is awesome. I love my birthday, If I had one wish for my birthday, it would be that you would make this cake! this is literally the BEST. CAKE. EVER. And no I am not being dramatic! It truly is THE. BEST. CAKE. EVAAAAHHH!!!!!
This is the birthday cake I have requested every year since I was a child. And now that I am grown up, I have to make it for myself. Waaaaaaa!
Do you want to know a secret?
I usually make two of these cakes! One to share and one just for me! It is that good!
It is so light, fluffy, creamy and fruity that before you know it you have eaten half the pan all by yourself! But hey, calories don’t count on your birthday so TREAT YO SELF!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- one box of white cake mix
- two cartons of fresh strawberries
- one 12 oz tub of Cool Whip
- One 8 oz box of softened cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- one box of Danish Dessert
Bake white cake mix according to package directions. COOK IT IN A SHEET PAN (or cookie sheet or what ever you prefer to call it.)
Allow cake to cool completely.
In a large bowl combine
- softened cream cheese. (It is important the cream cheese is soft or else you will get a lumpy cottage cheese like frosting,)
- Thawed cool whip.
- Powdered sugar.
Stir for two minutes or until well blended.
Don’t forget to lick the spoon because this stuff is delicious!
Spread mixture over cake.
Follow the directions on the back of Danish Dessert for pie glaze. Danish dessert can sometimes be tricky to find in stores. It is found by the Jello or the pie fillings!
When the Danish dessert is properly boiled it becomes red and transparent.
Quickly pour Danish Dessert on top of cake and frosting and spread until cake is evenly coated.
Top with fresh cut strawberries.
Chill cake in refrigerator for three hours.
DEVOUR WHOLE ENTIRE CAKE IN ONE SITTING!!!!!!!
Xoxo! Thanks for stopping by! Love Lou
