30 Things I Have Learned

Thirty-Things-I-Have-Learned

I just turned thirty yesterday…. WHAT!?!?!?!?!? I TURNED THIRTY? How did this happen? I still feel like a nerdy, confused, sixteen-year-old.  So far thirty feels real good. Like a comfy pair of mom jeans. I have learned a few things in my short thirty years. I figured I would share some of my brain gems I have collected through the years with you. Here are a few of my knowledge nuggets. Enjoy!

How I Power My Kids Day

Summer is in full swing at our house! And where we live it gets HOT!! So you better believe we spend a lot of time inside, at the pool, splash pad, or outside in the SHADE. We have to come up with different ways to keep my kids busy and entertained since going outside isn’t always an option.

A guide to the perfect "parents night in"

We have two kids under 5. As you can imagine, and as most of you know, we don’t get out as much as we used to. What used to be movie nights, eating out, or fun activities have turned into quiet evenings at home for my husband and I. Kids have bedtimes, busy schedules, and by the end of the day we are all wiped out.

Peace Themed Two Year Old Birthday Party

This peace sign, hippy, daisy, themed party was SO FUN! and so cheap and easy! The whole party cost me FOURTY DOLLARS! Talk about budget friendly! This sixties inspred little girls birthday party is perfect for any two year old!

I debated not throwing this party because:

let’s be honest, she is two, she has no “friends”, she will never remember it, parties cost a lot of money. The list goes on and on, I mean, who is this party even for?

But for some reason (probably because I am crazy) I just couldn’t kick this idea. So I made it happen.

AND OH MY GOSH IT TURNED OUT SO CUTE!

And did I mention, I did It all for way under $50?

YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!

It's a miracle, a WASHABLE rug!

I have an obsession with rugs.  It’s a problem. You can find me browsing through patterns and fabrics on the regular. One main reason I am always looking is because my rugs get destroyed!

The toy room rug, stained. Bathroom rug, smashed and dirty. Nursery rug, covered in spit up.

I wipe and clean but eventually, they die. All the wiping and spot cleaning in the world couldn’t keep those rugs going for one more day.

Life Is An Adventure: a few notes about growing older

Life is…

Like Mellie mentioned a few posts back, we are working with “Cents of Style”. Right now they are working on an inspirational line of T-shirts titled “Life Is…”.

Starting 1/20 all of their inspirational graphic t-shirts will be 50% off and FREE shipping! Use code : INSPIRE17. You won’t want to miss it! These shirts are SO awesome.

I picked this shirt out because… Duh! It is cute!

Navy blue is totally my color!

Then Melissa wrote her post “Life Is Sweet”… It was awesome.   You should totally read it! It is so good. Then I was like, awe crap… what am I going to say about my shirt? I picked the wrong shirt. Honestly, my life right now is not super adventurous. I am not trekking the globe, jumping out of air planes, or feeding hungry sharks that’s for sure. Right now, adventure for me means changing out of my pajamas or making it out of the grocery store alive. (I’d rather swim with the sharks.)
